The 30th International Barcelona Comicon will be held from the 3rd to the 6th of May 2012 at the Fira de Barcelona, in the centre of the city. The organisation is working on an excellent programme this year, featuring a range of activities including spectacular exhibitions, interesting conferences and workshops, music concerts and, as always, the participation of top comic artists. 3rd to the 6th of May 2012 at the Fira de Barcelona

Medialab-Prado is a program of the Department of Arts of the City Council of Madrid, aimed at the production, research, and dissemination of digital culture and of the area where art, science, technology, and society intersect. Many workshops for the production of projects, conferences, seminars, encounters, project exhibition, concerts, presentations, etc. take place in its versatile space. All activities are free and open to the general public.

The Catalan Company Media Haka presents in SMAU (Milan 2011, 19-21 October ) “Social Media Sculpture”, a site specific interactive installation based on a software which enables to create and energize a network in real time, mapping the connections between people and displaying it in a Data Art format.

The career of Ulf Langheinrich is best known for his internationally acclaimed work in the two-man group, Granular Synthesis, in collaboration with Kurt Hentschlaeger. The project, which began in 1991 with these two self-proclaimed "media terrorists", does more in the way of a performance than it does to define the men involved.

Japanese artist, born in 1978. Kurokawa’s works take on multiple forms such as installation works, recordings, and concert pieces.

Eyebeam is an art and technology center that provides a fertile context and state-of-the-art tools for digital research and experimentation. It is a lively incubator of creativity and thought, where artists and technologists actively engage with culture, addressing the issues and concerns of our time. 

Working in the field often termed Physical Computing in combination with traditional industrial design Nullohm's goal is to create fusions between architecture, design and art as innovative objects and systems creating inspiring surroundings.

ArtsIT is meant to be a place where people in arts, with a keen interest in modern IT technologies, meet with people in IT, having strong ties to arts in their works. ArtsIT 2011, the Second International ICST Conference on Arts and Technology, Esbjerg, Denmark from the 7th to the 8th of December 2011.

Their work can be found where architecture and urbanism meets digital media. Media Architectures grow at the intersection of physical and digital space and need a form of understanding that is beyond traditional architecture and media art/design as it brings up entirely genuine challenges and opportunities.

Stalker/On proposes experimental strategies for intervention founded on exploratory spatial practices, using playful, convivial, and interactive tactics that relate to an environment, its inhabitants and their local culture.

Future Places is a meeting of people with one question in mind: if digital media can do so much for global communication, knowledge and creativity, how can it contribute to local cultural development?  It consist in four days of exhibitions and events addressing the potential and the impact of digital media on local cultures. 

E-LIXO MAPS is an no-profit initiative of the Instituto Sergio Motta in partnership with the Department of the Environment of São Paulo. It's a search engine, developed in order to map and registrate collection and recycling points of electronic waste throughout Brazil.

Based in Paris, France, OIDEM is an international art/architecture research studio focusing on the conception, production and realization of cultural events and contextual interactive art installations through the collision of various media. The studio's mission is to promote social and cultural diversity and to incite a dialogue between cultures. 

Ciudad Viva is a citizen organization working for the construction of a democratic sustainability in local methods of urban planning. It's main goal is defend human and civil rights, above all the right of citizens to participate to all the matters that affect them. It has worked extensively in urban design integrating policies for pedestrians, cyclists and disabled people.

Founded in 1966, KIST is a premier multi-disciplinary research institute in Korea. Their goal is to research, develop, and transition creative, original technologies that are necessary to advance our nation’s science and technology base. Specifically, they focus on fusion technologies that will power Korea’s economic growth, especially in the areas of energy, environment, health, security, and materials.
